Will Pogba's Departure be a Problem for Manchester United?
Paul Pogba could leave Manchester United next summer according to his agent Mino Raiola.
Pogba arrived at old trafford back in 2016 after United paid a record breaking €105.00m transfer fee to Juventus. Pogba was United's academy player before Juventus came in and took him away for free. Soon he became a prominent player for the old lady and also called up for france national squad. Actually Pogba drew everyone's attention during 2014 world cup as he won the best young player award. Since then he's improved a lot and established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.
In 2016, when he wanted to leave Juventus so many big clubs came in for him including Real Madrid. But he chose his boyhood club and joined Manchester United. He was signed under manager Jose Mourinho but the relationship between the coach and the player went too bad. Later Mourinho was sacked by United and appointed their former player Ole Gunner Solksajaer as new manager before the end of 2018/19 season.
Pogba returned to his form again under ole but the injuries haunted him. It also became a problem for United as he was one of the key players. That's why they had to sign another midfielder in the January transfer window. And the arrival of Bruno Fernandes has changed the Manchester United's atmosphere . Since then Bruno has become a vital player for United. Due to pogba's injury ole had given other players, Mctominay, Fred the opportunity. Luckily they worked out pretty well and Fred has also become a regular starter for united. Moreover, in the summer of 2020 United signed a talented Van de Beek from Ajax.
And now, this season United has so many options in the Mid ( Bruno, Pogba, Matic, Fred, Mctominay, Van de Beek) that Pogba is hardly starting in any match. Pogba has made 17 apps so far this season where he started only in 9 matches scoring 3 goals & providing 2 assists. Compare to his teammates his performance is below expectation and that is why he's often finding himself on the bench this season. Recently, Pogba's agent Mino Raiola said in an interview ''I think it is over for Pogba at United" although united triggered his contract extension keeping him at the club till 2022.
There are so many rumors surrounding Pogba's future. Pogba is still a top target for Zidane. He was so close to joining Madrid before the start of 20/21. But United demanded more than 100m and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez refused to pay that amount consequently the tranasfer didn't happen. His former club Juventus is also interested in him. Reports suggest that Juventus could sacrifice their star player Paulo Dybala for Pogba who is also struggling to play.
